Spectacular 'Young Americans'

What an amazing evening for our wonderful team of St Paul's pupils who were involved in the Young Americans Extravaganza at Marine Academy Plymouth last evening (Thursday). Twenty of our year 4 and 6 pupils took part in three days of training in singing, dancing and acting with a large group from the UK based troupe of 'Young Americans'. The training was apparently fully engaging, exhilarating and exhausting but culminated in a breathtaking performance by everyone. We saw many of our your people from St Paul's perform in solo positions, this included some acting, rap, dancing, singing and sign langauge.

The evening was made up of two halves, the first half was a full performance by the 'Young Americans' and the second half was the performance by the young people. Children from different schools in our academic council were involved- these included Ernesettle, Mayflower, St Budeaux Foundation, MAP2 and MAP. Many new friends were made during the making of this showcase.

As Headteacher at St Paul's I was extremely proud of our young people, as were all the parents and friends who were there. Thank you to everyone for your support. A special thank you to Mrs Reid who supported our children throughout.

I know this will be an experience they will never forget and that is what education and life is all about. Well done all of you.
