Autumn term update 2

Message from Mrs Anderson…

It has been a very busy week in school with the children getting fully engrossed in learning within their new themes. There is a great deal of excitement and curiosity about this learning and the children are eager to talk about the learning.

Next week we will be sending out details about clubs that will be starting in school- there are a range of opportunities for the children.

Please join us on Thursday for Harvest Mass- this will be at the normal time of 9.30am. As we have requested in the letter we would value any gifts of food for the Harvest display. These will then be donated to the Shekinah mission in Plymouth.

As you all know we would like to invite you to the school after the service for refreshments. The year 3/4 classes are organizing this so it will be wonderful if you can support them. They are very excited about providing refreshments for our families, friends and parishioners.

School Uniform

I would like to ask you to support us in ensuring your child wears the correct uniform to school. There is a clear expectation linked to uniform and this is in the school prospectus on the website. Key stage 2 children do need to wear school ties. All children should be wearing school shoes and not trainers. If they want to wear trainers for football at playtimes they can keep them in school and change.

As the weather is getting much cooler please can you ensure your child has a coat in school at all times.

‘Class Open Evenings’

Thank you to all of the parents who joined the class teachers for the open evenings. This information sharing session is really useful for you as parents to know the routines and expectations of your child’s class. If you missed the meeting and you would like some information please do not hesitate to see your child’s class teacher.

Celebration Assemblies

The dates for the Celebration Assemblies this term are on Thursday 22nd October and Thursday 17th December in the afternoon.

We will notify by the Monday of the week if your child is to be presented with an award.
