Welcome back to the final part of the autumn term. This looks like it will be a very busy term. There is a great deal planned already- you will find many dates in this newsletter and also on the website.
Collection of children
We would like to remind you that it is vital that foundation and key stage 1 parents collect their children from the class exit doors. The other children are escorted to the KS2 playground where the class teachers wait until the children are collected. If someone different collects your child it is vital that you notify the school office of this change- we want to keep your children safe.
Please can you help us, as you know we changed our website last year. Some of you are finding that the old site comes up first, we need to all keep logging onto the site so that it comes up before the other one on a search. Please can you keep accessing the site, www.stpaulsplymouth.com. There are some really good class pages developing on the site and you can always read my weekly blog!
Ofsted- Parent View
As many of you may be aware on the Ofsted website parents can give their views about their child’s school. Please can we encourage you to visit the site and give your thoughts about our school. The address is… https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/
Congratulations… Eleven Plus success
A huge congratulations to Lucy and Mali in year 6 who have passed their eleven-plus- this is a great achievement. Well done to both of you.
With this newsletter you will receive a survey for you and your child to complete. We sent the last one out last year at this time and feel it is informative for us as a school to do so again. Your views are really important to us and this enables us to make developments based on this. Please can you complete the survey and return them to us by the deadline.
Your School Safeguarding Team
In one of the surveys for the Safeguarding review some of you were unsure of the School Safeguarding Team. As you move around the school their are pictures of the team, in the main entrance we have our photos and the current Safeguarding policy for you. All of this information is on the school website. The school team are as follows…
Maria Anderson- Designated Safeguarding Lead
Sarah Pope- Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead
Safeguarding Governors: Barbara Kirk and Della Nash
Children In Need 2015
For Children in Need this year we are going to have a Cake Sale on Monday 9th November - donations will be gratefully received and the children will need to bring some money to buy the delicious cakes! There will be a mufti next Friday- children to wear a ‘Onesie’ if they wish and bring a donation of £1. As the theme this year is Champions of Change, we thought it might be nice if children could nominate their champion of change in each year group. There will be a badge for four children per class and a sticker for the remaining children. The badges will be presented in the celebration assemblies.
Remembrance Mass: Thursday 12th November
Please join us for Remembrance Mass in the church on Thursday. This will be a key stage 2 Mass. We would like to invite you all for refreshments in the school hall following this- this will be hosted by our HMS Heroes group.
