Weekly Update 13.5.16

Message from Mrs Anderson…

What a busy busy week! As I am sure you are all aware through talking to your children and through the press it has been year 6 SATs week. I would like to say that I am enormously proud of the way that the year 6 children have tackled the SAT tests this week. They have approached the tests in a very positive way and shown true determination and perseverance even when it has been tough! A huge well done to the children for really giving it everything- we are really impressed with their attitude. I think the breakfast helped with it! I would also like to say a huge thank you to the year 6 team for all their hard work over the course of the year and for keeping the children as calm as possible throughout the papers. The rest of the school have supported their year 6 friends by keeping the school really quiet.

Class Photos…

On Wednesday morning, Tempest will be in school taking the class photographs. These are always taken at the end of the year to mark the end of another class- these are generally a very special photo. Please can you ensure that your children come to school in the correct school uniform.

PE kits…

We still have some children in school who do not have a PE kit in school. The PE element is a critical part of the curriculum and all children must access physical education. It is vital that you ensure that your children have their kit in school every week- it does not need to go home on a weekly basis. Please support the school in making sure your child/ren bring in their kit and that it is all labelled.

Water in class…

As a school we encourage the children to drink throughout the day- the school expectation is that children bring a bottle of water (no fizzy drinks, squashes or flavoured waters) for drinking during lesson time. Please can the children bring clean water bottles to school daily- with the weather being warmer they really do need more to drink than just a drink at lunch time.

Super Fundraiser…

Kian Hopper, one of our year 4 boys is taking part in an amazing fundraising event this weekend for Great Ormond Street Hospital. He will be running 5 km on Sunday and raising money for this amazing hospital, which is close to the heart of the family. If you would like to support Kian, Claire, his mum has put a link on the St Paul’s Facebook page. If you go to the link on the Facebook page it will take you straight to Kian’s personal page. Good luck Kian for the race- we will look forward to hearing all about it on Monday.
