Message from Mrs Anderson…

Thank you to those parents who have volunteered for the Parent Advisory Group I am delighted that quite a few of you got in touch to say you would like to support.  We now have representation for every class in the school.

Letters will be coming out next week inviting you all to a parent consultation with your child’s class teacher.  It is really important that you come in and meet with them to discuss how your child has settled and the progress they are making.  This is great opportunity to find out things from the teachers.

Below you will see our Mission Statement, as this is heart of everything we are committed to at St Paul’s.  It drives all the work that we do in school.

‘Striving for excellence’

St Paul’s Catholic Primary’s Mission Statement is to live in faith, walk in hope and grow in love.  Through these actions we can then, work together, learn together, pray together, we are one.

Be guided by God in all actions; in loving, in learning, in living.

Safeguarding is obviously very high priority for all schools.  Mrs Anderson is the Designated Safeguarding Person and Mrs Mullett is the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Person.  If you have any concerns that you wish to discuss please do not hesitate to contact us.

Summer Reading Challenge…

Huge success:  We had the most amazing Celebration assembly last week when 54 children were awarded their Summer Reading Challenge certificates.  This was a record number for us at St Paul’s and across the City.  This recognises the enormous commitment by the children.  There weren’t any children at St Paul’s who started and didn’t complete this challenge- what fabulous resilience.

Turn the page Totnes…

Totnes Children’s Book Festival for families and children 3-1. This event is on Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th October 10am - 5.30pm they have 11 events with 15 authors & illustrators from the southwest & beyond. Tickets are on sale now from at a cost of £3.50.

Reminder that children need to have their coats in school every day, it is getting quite cold and we do try and get the children out as much as possible.  Thank you for your support with this.

Healthy snacks…

Thank you for your support with healthy snacks.  Please can we ask you to keep this separate rather than putting it in your child’s lunch box.  This helps your child at break times.
