Please can you share your thought and views- Ofsted Parent View Findings

During Parent Consultations this week many of our governors were asking you to complete the Ofsted Parent View survey. This gave us more valuable information on your views about St Paul's. Following up from this, the governors and SLT wanted to seek your views on three questions that had some negative responses. With your newsletter this week you have the questions below- please can we urge you to consider the questions and let me know your thoughts.

Ofsted Parent View- Our thoughts and feedback to Mrs Anderson and Governors

Please can you help the leadership in school make further developments by answering the following questions and share your ideas for development. The majority of the questions showed very positive outcomes for the school based on responses from 39 families. The three questions below showed a very small amount of negative feedback which we would like to develop and rectify.

My child receives appropriate homework for their age…

38% strongly agree, 46% agree, 10% disagree and 5% don’t know.

As a school all children have weekly home learning, all children are expected to read daily at home and it is crucial that the texts are discussed with your children. Home learning grids are sent home termly where the children decide as and when to complete the tasks. Teachers also give guidance on number facts that children need to know and this needs to be practiced at home regularly. By the end of year 4 children need to know all of their times tables facts. Teachers have been sharing this key information at the parent meetings.

What ideas do you have for how we can improve this?

The school responds well to any concerns I raise…

51% strongly agree, 38% agree, 3% disagree, 5% strongly disagree, 3% don’t know.

As a school we have an open door policy and if you have any concerns we encourage all parents to see class teachers if there are any problems who will then respond immediately. If the issue is not rectified then members of SLT are always open to meet with parents to discuss issues and find solutions if they are needed. If you cannot personally get into school all of our email adresses are on the school website,

Please can you share any issues linked to responding to concerns, or how your feel we can improve this as a school?

I receive valuable information from the school about my child’s progress…

38% strongly agree, 41% agree, 8% disagree, 5% strongly disagree, 8% don’t know.

As a school we have termly parent consultations, an open door policy, annual reports for all children, together with informal meetings with parents if you require further information on your child’s learning and progress.

What other information would you like to receive about your child’s progress? How would this be best shared?

Thank you for the time you have taken completing this questionnaire, we really appreciate your support and views. Please can you send this back by Monday 7th November to Mrs Anderson.
