Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
Here we are at the end of another term, and what a busy and exciting term this has been for everyone. The children have been fully engaged in their learning, showing enormous enthusiasm and curiosity. This has been a lovely week, watching the foundation and key stage 1 children retell the Christmas story with us- these performances are always very moving. Key stage 2 then led a beautiful Carol Service, great singing by everyone. Yesterday was Christmas jumper and dinner day, what an amazing collection of jumpers! The week has ended with our termly Celebration Assemblies. Well done to everyone who was involved, every single person in school has something to celebrate.
Good-bye and good luck Mrs Potterton
The next few days will be a mixture of joy tinged with sadness as it will be Mrs Potterton’s last few days with us as a full time member of the team. She has given a huge part of her teaching career to St Paul’s as she came to the school in 1992 after she qualified. A great deal of this was part time while she had her own children. Since returning full time she has been a true professional always committed to taking the school forward and giving the children the best of opportunities. I know we will all really miss her but wish her every success with the next step of her career- go for it Mrs Potterton!
We are delighted that the first Mass of the next year will be held in the school hall- this will be the Mass celebrating Epiphany. Please, please, please join us for this really special Mass as we will also have the first St Paul’s ‘Cribfest’. Masses are going to start at 9.15 in 2017 as we thought this would be a better time for you as parents and families. Following the Mass you will be able to look at the Cribs and have a relaxing coffee and cake with some of our children. The children are really looking forward to this Mass so please join us for it.
On behalf of all the staff at St Paul’s we would like to thank you for all your support this term and wish you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful new year. We will look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Wednesday 4th January.
