Message from Mrs Anderson

Really good to see so many of you coming into school this week to find out about your children’s fantastic learning. It is so important that we share what your children are doing and the ways that we can all support them. If you have not seen your child’s class teacher please speak to the office staff and we will get an appointment booked.

As the weather is so wet and cold at the moment please can you make sure your child comes to school with an appropriate waterproof warm coat and waterproof shoes. The expectations for school uniform is very clear so please ensure this is followed. It is not acceptable when children come to school without a coat or a thin coat and no jumper. Our children need to keep dry and warm.

World Book Day and Books at Bedtime- it was wonderful seeing the children in school in their various outfits for World Book Day. We have some very creative children and parents, thank you for your support with this, the children had a fantastic day. The F/KS1 team had a lovely ‘Books at Bedtime’ event last Friday, the children who attended had a great time listening to stories, acting out stories and enjoying hot chocolate and cookies. Big thank you to the school team and FOSP members- we couldn’t have done it without you.

We have several action packed weeks ahead so please join with us in these events.

Science Week 2017

Next week is Science week and we will all be taking part in a fun filled week of Science based learning linked to ‘Change’. Hopefully many of you will be joining us for the after school cooking sessions- they all sound delicious. On Wednesday the whole school will be bread making at different times! A representative of the Natural Connections team will be joining us on Tuesday and working with years 5 and 6. Our foundation and key stage 1 classes are visiting tesco to take part in the Farm to Fork trail- sounds like an interesting afternoon. On Friday afternoon we would like to invite you into your child’s class to share their learning- these sessions will be from 2.45 until the end of the day. You can go to classes after school if you have more than one child and want to find out about all the learning. Thanks to the team for organising this great week.

Please come along and join us and share your ideas, there is no expectation that you have to give time, just your ideas. This will be a relaxed meeting, eating cake, which will be a good opportunity for you to meet other parents. Please encourage your friends and families to join us. Children will be able to attend the after school club on this day, so there are no child-care worries.
