As you will have seen over the last few weeks the children have been embracing the learning opportunities that they have been having with their new themes. It has been wonderful seeing this learning celebrated on Facebook, together with Class Dojo.
There are some key dates shared with you in this newsletter, they include an early warning for World Book day which is in early March. We will be asking the children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character- I am sure they will have some wonderful ideas for this. A letter will be coming out soon that will outline the plans for the event, it looks like it will be a wonderful day for the children of all ages.
Parent Advisory Group...
The parent advisory group is a connection between the parents and the school. The group is comprised of a group of parent volunteers who are impartial and fully supportive of developing our school for the children. A key part of this role is to improve communication networks and generate ideas from ‘playground discussions’ to reality.
Some of the key developments have been linked to involving parents more in their child’s education, Mother’s day and Father’s day lunches, refreshments after Mass. We are always looking to further develop this. To promote pupil numbers at St Paul’s our group looked at how we could present our new children with their first school jumper, book bag, PE shirt and water bottle. We highlighted and changed some policies and approaches in the school, eg linked to newsletters, safeguarding. As a group we discuss some of the schools ideas for future developments, together with responses to feedback to school surveys and potential improvements.
This group can be as effective as the feedback we are given from you all, please speak to any of us so we can discuss these at the meetings. Please speak to us in the playground, we are Emma Abbott (year 6), Shelley Mackie (year 5), Claire Hopper (year 2), Emma Faulkner (year 6), Becky Huq (year 4), Melissa Eke (year 1), Vicky Holloway (year F) and Fiona Weeks (year 1). We are going to have a parent open forum on Wednesday 7th March at 9am- it is an opportunity to meet the group and share ideas for development.
