Message from Mrs Anderson…

I hope that you all had the best bank holiday weekend, we were all so lucky with the fantastic weather. I know from conversations with the children that many of you had a great deal of fun enjoying the weather and our wonderful countryside. This has been a very short week with so much to fit in. Thank you to those of you who joined us for our Ascension day Mass yesterday. As you know next week will be Pentecost, so we will be celebrating our Pentecost Mass on Thursday at 9.15, please join us for this Mass.

National Walk to school week 21st - 25th May…

Please support this excellent week, it is so important that we encourage our young people to be healthy and make the right choices for their health and welfare. It would be really good to see as many children as possible walking to school during this week. Class Dojo points for those who walk to school. Let’s give ourselves a challenge!

School’s Challenge…

Come and support our children who are taking part in this years ‘Schools Challenge’. They will be running the equivalent of a half marathon. During their lunch time the children will be running daily to make sure they have run 12 miles before Sunday 20th May when they run the final mile on Plymouth Hoe. Please come and cheer on the children on the Hoe on Sunday 20th- for more details watch our Facebook page.

Sports Day…

Get prepared for our Sports Day, taking place on Tuesday 5th June weather permitting- KS2 will have their sports day in the morning starting at 9.30am and KS1 in the afternoon beginning at 1.15pm. Further details will come out nearer the time.

Our year 5 and 6 sports leaders will be having training the week before half term so that they are prepared and able to lead the key stage 1 Sports Day. This is a superb opportunity for them to develop their own leadership skills.

Please make sure that all children have their sports/PE kit in school everyday, just in case we put in additional sport practices.

As in previous years, there will be refreshments being sold during both sports day by FOSP. If you are able to help with these please let Mrs Reid know of your availability through her email Thank you

KS2 SATs week…

KS2 SATs week is here again, we are all so proud of the year 6 pupils as they have been so focused on their learning. None of us could have asked for anymore from any of them, commitment, focus and drive to improve can never be questioned. As a team we would like to ask you to help them over the weekend in preparation for the week, it would be really good to ensure they all have plenty of rest and sleep. A relaxing weekend will make all the difference to them as it is a very intense week. We know that all of your children will succeed in the future in whatever they want to do. We want them to know that they have done their best in preparation for next week and want them to feel proud of what they achieve- all children achieve at their own level in their own areas of strength and skill. Let’s give it our best year 6 as we know you can all do it.

As we have notified you before, we will be providing breakfast to try and get a relaxing start to the day for you all, in previous years we have found this makes a huge difference. Please do not send the year 6 pupils in before 8.15am as staff will not be able to supervise before this time.

Mum2mum Market...

The Mum2mum Market has our next sale in less than 2 weeks on May 19th in Plympton. I'm trying to drum up as much awareness as possible for this sale as it is unfortunately on the same day as the Royal Wedding (unbeknown to us when booking either the venue or the mums booking the stalls many months ago). As I have a sell out (stalls wise) sale, I would love for lots of parents to come and buy a bargain from our mums in the morning, before they do activities centred around the wedding in the afternoon. The mums have lots of gorgeous items for sale (including jumperoos, 3 wheel pushchairs, beautiful prams and moses baskets, alongside so much more) and I'm about to publish photos of these on our facebook page at Mum2mum Devon and Cornwall.

10-12 noon at Harewood House at Plympton. Entry £2 on the door, children free.
